Ancelotti looking to lure Lampard

Paris Saint Germain have made a sensational move to sign Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard talkSPORT understands.

The 33-year-old has just under 18 months on his existing contract, and has been heavily linked with a move to the MLS.

However, Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas has repeatedly played down speculation suggesting Lampard is poised to leave Stamford Bridge, insisting the player will see out the remainder of his contract in west London.

But, in a new twist, former Chelsea chief Carlo Ancelotti has made it his mission to lure the England international to the French capital and sign for Paris Saint Germain.

Lampard has been identified as a player to kick-start Ancelotti's Ligue 1 revolution, having fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea in recent weeks.

The midfielder was withdrawn early in Saturday's goalless Barclays Premier League draw with Norwich at Carrow Road, with what looked to be a calf injury, but Lampard is not expected to be ruled out for too long.
