Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with Real Madrid over the proposed loan signing of midfielder Esteban Granero during the the transfer window.
The 24-year-old has hardly featured under Jose Mourinho this term, and his appearance in the weekend win over Athletic Bilbao was only his fourth of the season in La Liga.
It comes as no surprise then that Granero has been frequently linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in recent weeks, although the Spaniard's agent has claimed he would be interested in a move to Liverpool.
However, according to The Mirror, Liverpool have made their move for Granero and Kenny Dalglish is confident of reaching an agreement for the former Getafe star.
Granero joined Real in in the summer of 2009 but, as of yet, has failed to make a significant impact for Los Blancos.
The former Spain under-21 international has made just 16 starts in the league in almost three years with Real and, it would seem, could be granted a move to Anfield for the short-term at least.
