Norwegian teenager Jakob Glesnes is the latest youngster to be handed a trial with Liverpool.

The 17-year-old defender is scheduled to arrive at Anfield on Sunday, with SkySports reporting that the starlet is hoping to build on his previous experiences in England after trials with Arsenal, Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest.

After failing to secure a deal in the three earlier attempts, Glesnes is hoping to shine on Merseyside during his one-week spell at the club, taking the opportunity to learn from the Reds' academy coaches and return to Scandinavia with some positive experiences from his time at the Barclays Premier League outfit.

"I regard it as an opportunity to get a good week's training," Glesnes told Adresseavisen.

"I want to learn some things, show what I can do and return with some good experience."

Glesnes is the latest young talent to get his opportunity with Liverpool, after 15-year-old midfielder Gustav Engval, 18-year-old Ghanaian Mumuni Abubakar and Swedish starlet Abdul Aziz.

All are vying to join the likes of Raheem Sterling, Suso, Connor Coady and Adam Morgan in the club's renowned youth setup, but will be dreaming of senior opportunities under Kenny Dalglish.
