Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie has issued a rallying call to his teammates, and warned that anyone who has chosen to write off the club's chances of success this season, may live to regret the decision.

The 28-year-old Dutchman took to his official Facebook page, to dispel alleged rumours of unrest within the Gunners' camp, and insisted that all the players, Arsene Wenger, and his team of coaches are pushing forward together as one.

"We are all committed to doing the very best we can to bring success to The Emirates," said Van Persie. "We are not giving up on a top-four finish, no way.

"Losing to Manchester United was a setback, but it is not a knockout blow. The way this season is going I think it's pretty safe to say there will be a lot more surprises before the Premier League season is over."

After losing last weekend's Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester United - Arsenal's third consecutive loss - the club's revival looks to have been stopped well and truly in its tracks.

But Van Persie is adamant there is still plenty to play for this season, and ahead of this weekend's FA Cup fourth round tie with Aston Villa, remains confident the squad can bounce back.

"There are plenty of games still left, [and] we have recovered from reverses like this before," he continued. "We will win again, so anybody writing us off is making a mistake.

"This could still be a good season for us. We have the FA Cup to look forward to and the Champions League.

"We will all be giving 100 per cent to make sure we bring one of those trophies home, hopefully both of them. Let's all stick together and fight."
