Spurs ponder Rod deal

Hugo Rodallega will face Tottenham on Tuesday night - and could end up signing for them after the game reports the Daily Mirror.

The 26-year-old Colombian international will be out of contract at Wigan at the end of the season, and is expected to leave the DW Stadium before the close of the transfer window.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is eager to bring Rodallega to White Hart Lane as a direct replacement for Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, whom the club are hoping to sell ahead of tonight's deadline.

QPR are understood to have had a £4million bid turned down yesterday, while Tottenham could face competition for the player's signature from Fulham who have also shown an interest.

Rodallega has struggled for form this campaign, with a return of just two goals in 20 appearances for the lowly Latics. But that has done little to deter a number of his suitors who will be looking to strike a deal imminently.

Wigan travel to north London to face Tottenham in tonight's Barclays Premier League clash, and Roberto Martinez will make a last minute decision whether to include Rodallega in his squad.

If a move successfully goes through, the South American could turn out tonight against a club that by midnight may be his new employers.
