Arsenal reportedly turned down an offer from Fulham on deadline day proposing the temporary acquisition of South Korean forward Ju Young Park.

The 26-year-old has seen his opportunities limited in north London after signing for the club from Monaco in the summer, and has made only five appearances for the Gunners.

According to, Fulham were keen to offer Park the chance to play some regular football, but Arsenal rejected the offer of a loan deal for the rest of the season.

Arsene Wenger, it is claimed, wanted to retain the services of his £2.6 million summer signing in the belief that he will be more effective for Arsenal from now until the close of the campaign.

Fulham, meanwhile, turned their attention to Stuttgart striker Pavel Pogrebnyak after failing to bring Park to Craven Cottage, and sealed a deal for the Russia international before the deadline.

Martin Jol also had to deal with the loss of Bobby Zamora, who was reunited with former Fulham manager Mark Hughes at Queens Park Rangers.
