Manchester United have been put on alert after the Santos president said Brazilian starlet Ganso is available for transfer.
Sir Alex Ferguson is keen on the 22-year-old and is considering a bid to take him to Old Trafford in the summer, according to talkSPORT.
Now the Red Devils have been given a boost in their pursuit after Luis Alvaro Ribiero de Oliveira confirmed Ganso could leave for the right price.
“Santos do not want unhappy players – If he wants to leave and a bid meets our valuation, he can leave,” he is quoted as telling Brazil radio station Radio Globo.
“The player is eager to shine and that is something that is in both his interests and the club's.
“If he plays well, certainly better offers will come in the middle of the year.”
The report also suggest that other clubs are interested in a player who has been outshone somewhat by his team-mate and international sensation Neymar.
The other teams being named are AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona and fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
With such prestigious sides being named as suitors, Santos will likely be hopeful of starting a bidding war for a player who is already a full Brazil international.
If Ganso were to join Manchester United, he would line up with fellow Brazilians Fabio, Rafael and Anderson.
