An EXCLUSIVE poll of Chelsea fans revealed their uncertainty over the Blues prospects this season.

GMF polled fans over what position they thought the Stamford Bridge club would end up in come the end of the season and the results were mixed, though leaned towards an optimistic outlook.

Mirroring Chelsea’s fortunes so far this season, fans of Andre Villas-Boas’ side were not unanimous over whether they would finish in the top four, though most did think they would manage Champions League qualification.

The blues currently sit fourth in the Premier League, level on points with Newcastle United and just two points ahead of Arsenal.

Those fans polled may have had a different view had Chelsea managed to hold on to their 3-0 lead against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

As has become a regular occurrence at home this season, they were unable to maintain a lead and Sir Alex Ferguson’s side came storming back to snatch a point.

In fact, the majority of voters were of the opinion that Chelsea would overhaul Spurs, but it was by no mean unanimous.

40% of fans thought the Blues would finish third, whereas 20% were of the opinion that they would hold their position in fourth and an interesting result was the 27% who believed they would fall out of the Champions League places, finishing fifth.

If they continue to throw away leads and points as they did with United at the weekend, then the worst could possibly happen.

There are some uncertain times ahead for a number of the clubs buzzing around fourth place and it seems the fans are in tune to this.

However, one thing is for sure, the race for fourth has not taken its last twist and there is bound to be drama ahead.
