Chelsea duo Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou will be in action for the Ivory Coast in tonight's Africa Cup of Nations Final.

The Elephants take on Zambia in Gabon's capital city Libreville at Stade de l'Amitie, looking to be crowned continental champions for the first time in 20 years.

"We would like to win this for our country," explained Drogba. "You must understand that we just are coming from a civil war.

"We need to make things happen to make our people feel that our country stands for great things and not for negative things."

Cote d'Ivoire are aiming to get their hands on the trophy against the backdrop of recent violent troubles in their homeland. While Zambia - competition minnows - return to the city where a former team of their proud nation died in a plane crash back in 1993.

Both sides have special reasons for wanting to win the tournament, and will be doing everything they can to emerge successful at the final whistle.

"I will like to say that we will win, but we really respect what Zambia have done too," Drogba continued. "So we will take the final very, very, seriously and see what comes in the end.

"I understand what people say about why Zambia will be motivated, but people forget that we all have our own desires. We have been called favourites for a long, long time.

"Our team can become a big flop of our time if we don't win, so we also need to win. Zambia are motivated, Ivory Coast are motivated. The best side will win."
