Chelsea are set to step up their interest in Fiorentina attacker Stevan Jovetic and are readying a £21million bid in the summer.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Serie A side are expecting the bid out of Stamford Bridge when the transfer window reopens.
They also claim that Arsenal have an interest in the 22-year-old and Fiorentina general manager Vicenzo Guerini has admitted the Viola will not be able to turn down a significant sum.
“Our intention is to build the team around him, but today the word ‘untransferable’ doesn't exist,” he is quoted as saying in the report.
“If an indecent proposal were made, and it is possible that one will arrive, then we would take that into consideration. I'm sure that Jovetic will turn into a top player.”
If the claims are to be believed, Chelsea’s reported initial offer of £14million must have been wholly decent as it was rejected out of hand.
Jovetic has been attracting rave reviews for his inspirational performances in Florence this season, scoring 12 goals in 17 Serie A starts so far this season.
