Manchester United are being linked with another Ajax starlet after Viktor Fischer emerged on the Old Trafford radar.

Danish sensation Christian Eriksen has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months, with suggestions that the teenager is seen as an ideal replacement for veteran midfielder Paul Scholes.

But The Manchester Evening news claims Eriksen isn't the only player at the Amsterdam Arena currently on the Red Devils wanted list, with 17-year-old Fischer also getting admiring glances from Sir Alex Ferguson.

Another Danish delight, versatile Fischer can play in both midfield or a more advanced attacking role, and made the move from FC Midtjylland in his homeland to the Godenzonen last April in an effort to develop his skills at one of football's most famous academies.

Ajax are renowned for producing some of the world's finest young talent, and Ferguson knows he's getting quality whenever he looks to raid the Eredivisie.

“The standard of Dutch football is always good. The Dutch people will tell you the problem is they always want to leave," said Ferguson.

"That’s unfortunately the way it is with Dutch teams, but it is to their credit that keep producing new ones.”

Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Jaap Stam have previously made the move from the Netherlands to the Premier League champions, and either Fischer or Eriksen could be next in-line during the summer transfer window.
