Manchester United are waiting on the fitness of Norwegian goalkeeper Sondre Rossbach before completing a deal for the starlet, according to talkSPORT.
The 16-year-old went on trial at Old Trafford in December, and after impressing was expected to be offered a permanent deal.
However, any return to the club this week has been put on hold, as the teenage nurses an ankle injury. The injury will rule him out for six weeks following an operation, delaying a potential move to United.
The Premier League champions will access Rossbach following his recovery, and take a decision over whether to finalise a deal.
United have had littered success when recruiting from Norway, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer propelling himself to greatness, while Mame Biram Diouf failed to sparkle during his his three-year spell.
Rossbach will join fellow Scandinavian keeper Anders Lindegaard, as well as Spanish stopper David De Gea, in the rafts of goalkeepers at United if he makes the switch.
