Roberto Martinez has a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of Saturday's fixture, with the Latics welcoming back Callum McManaman after he has recovered from a back injury.

Mohammed Diame may also make his first start since returning from a disappointing African Cup of Nations with Senegal, who failed to make it past the first round.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa have a strengthened side for the match with forward Gabby Agbonlahor declaring himself fit after a hamstring problem.

LA Galaxy loanee Robbie Keane is set to make his last appearance for the club before he returns back to the MLS.

McLeish Pays tribute to Keane

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish heaped praise on Robbie Keane this week, stating the Republic of Ireland International had "infectious enthusiasm" whilst at the club.

Keane, 31, has been an instant hit with Villa fans, netting three goals in his short time at the club.

McLeish said: "He has brought his skills to the club - his ability with the ball, his finishing, and I know he would like to have seen us getting even better results. That's the measure of the guy, he's never satisfied, he's a top pro."

The Scotsman has not ruled out a further move for Keane, suggesting the door will always be open the LA Galaxy man.

"Maybe he could do us a favour next year again when we can add another player to the squad for not a lot of money, which is good in these times of austerity and when the transfer window in January goes absolutely mental"

Speaking ahead of the Wigan game, Keane thanked the club, stating he has enjoyed his time at the club.

"I have to say the club as a whole has been fantastic. Villa have looked after me really well and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here," said the Irishman.

"I couldn't have wished to come to a better club than Villa. I thank everyone. I now look forward to Villa doing well this season."

The team from Villa Park currently sit 15th in the Premier League table - just 7 points off a relegation spot, making Saturday's match a must win if they are to get their season back on track.
