Tuttosport is today claiming that Alessandro Del Piero could join Arsenal once his Juventus contract expires in the summer.

According to Football Italia, the Turin-based newspaper suggests that the 37-year-old Italian has been earmarked for a move to the Premier League.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to strengthen his forward line in June, and sees a free transfer move for Del Piero as value-for-money business.

The World Cup winning striker has scored just one goal in 17 appearances for Juventus this season in Serie A and the Coppa Italia, but will bring invaluable experience to the Emirates Stadium set-up.

Del Piero has long been on Arsenal's radar, after the north Londoners reportedly attempted to sign him back in 2006, only for the striker to turn down a move to England in favour of staying with the Bianconeri following their demotion to Serie B.

Juventus boss Antonio Conte has already confirmed that the club captain, who first joined the Old Lady in 1993 from Padova, will not be offered a new deal at the end of the season.

Wenger is keen to secure Del Piero's signature and use his expertise as a learning tool for the younger players in his Arsenal squad.
