Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen flies in to London on Tuesday hoping that Chelsea will let him sign Romelu Lukaku on loan, reports the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old Belgian international striker has struggled to make his mark on the Blues first-team this season, having been used sparingly by Andre Villas-Boas.

However, following the Portuguese boss' sacking at the weekend, the former Anderlecht star will be hoping for more regular action.

Chelsea are believed to be prepared to let their £18million summer signing leave Stamford Bridge on loan for the remainder of the 2011-12 campaign, but are keen for him to stay in the Premier League.

However, Arnesen - former director of football in west London - will be hoping to convince interim manager Roberto Di Matteo to send him to the Bundesliga.

The meeting will also provide an opportunity for the Hamburg chief to discuss the future of 20-year-old Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma, who is currently enjoying a season-long loan spell in Germany.
