Inter battle Maradona for Lampard signature

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is reportedly wanted by both Inter Milan and Diego Maradona's Dubai-based side Al Wasl.

Lampard had seen his role at Stamford Bridge restricted under Andre Villas-Boas and, as such, has been often linked with a summer move away from west London.

The departure of Villas-Boas, however, may encourage Lampard to extend his Chelsea stay, but the 33-year-old appears to still be a player in demand.

According to The People, Al Wasl are ready to offer Lampard a massive £6 million-a-year tax free as he enters into the twilight years of an illustrious club career.

However, Maradona will be contested in his pursuit of the England international by Inter, who have reportedly identified the Chelsea veteran as a potential marquee summer signing.

Inter have a long-standing interest in Lampard from Jose Mourinho's time at the helm, and club president Massimo Moratti is keen to bring him to the San Siro.

Along with Inter and Al Wasl, Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to be monitoring Lampard's situation with Chelsea.

Should he move to the Parc des Princes, Lampard would link-up with former Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti.
