Arsenal are reportedly interested in Udinese forward Luis Muriel – dubbed the Colombian Cristiano Ronaldo.

Arsene Wenger is renowned for picking out young talent and the 20-year-old attacker is the next candidate for a move to Emirates Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.

Muriel is currently on loan at Serie A strugglers Lecce, but has greatly impressed with his performances there, supposedly attracting the interest of Barcelona and prominent Serie A clubs, as well as being on the Gunners’ radar.

The report claims that Muriel is currently applying for a Spanish passport, which would solve one major stumbling block of a move to Arsenal as getting a work permit or someone of his age is difficult.

Especially since he has not played for the senior Colombia side, although he was very impressive for them in the Under-20 World Cup hosted in his homeland.

Muriel’s pace and power, combined with a great deal of skill, has led to the comparisons with Real Madrid’s leading scorer and Udinese will likely demand at least £8million for his services.
