Wenger calls on concentration

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is demanding his side fully concentrate on their end of season run-in after seven straight wins.

The Gunners are in pole position to finish third in the Premier League, a position that appeared ambitious mid-way through the season.

Now in the drivers seat for Champions League qualification, Wenger doesn't want Arsenal getting sloppy in the latter stages of the season.

"This is the period where what we do matters the most, so we just want to keep our focus on this and not worry about anybody else's results," Wenger said.

"We have shown both footballing and mental qualities in recent weeks and now we need to continue our development."

"We are now at the stage of the season where every day in the Premier League seems to have turning points," he added.

"What is most important from now onwards is our consistency and momentum."

Meanwhile QPR, who are a point from safety with eight games remaining have been told they must begin to contribute regulary if they're to beat the drop.

Victory over Liverpool was followed by a disappoint defeat to Sundelrnad, and manager Mark Hughes wants the spirit of that win over the Carling Cup winners to return against The Gunners.

"I think we all understand we want to stay in the Premier League and that is our aim. We are fully focused on that challenge," Hughes said.

"If we can play as we did against Liverpool against the top sides we are coming up against then that will go along way to whether we stay in the league.

"We all have to stand up and be counted and make sure that we give it our best shot. That is certainly what we will be doing."
