Chelsea have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla this summer.

The 26-year-old has scored ten goals in 24 appearances for club and country this season, and this term could be his last at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Stamford Bridge has emerged as a potential destination for Negredo, as Roman Abramovich begins to make plans for the summer transfer window.

According to Marca, representatives of Negredo have contacted Chelsea and have told the west London clubs that they can begin negotiations with their client.

Whether or not Chelsea do clinch the signing of Negredo remains to be seen, the the acquisition of goalscoring reinforcements is likely to be a transfer window priority for the new manager.

The Blues could lose Didier Drogba at the end of the season, with the Ivorian yet to agree to a new contract as his current deal nears expiration, and Fernando Torres faces an uncertain future with the club.

Torres has improved drastically in recent weeks, but it would come as no great surprise if the Spaniard left Stamford Bridge for pastures new during the summer.
