Dalglish wants Liverpool focus

Kenny Dalglish has urged his Liverpool players to forget their recent troubles and record a much needed victory against struggling Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday evening.

Liverpool have endured a quite dreadful run of form in the Premier League since the turn of the year; taking only nine points from a possible 39 in 2012.

This has ended any hopes the Reds harboured of qualifying for the Champions League next season, and they could yet finish the campaign outside the top ten.

A draw with Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday ended a run of three consecutive defeats, but still left many questioning the talents of Dalglish's side.

They do, however, have an opportunity to restore some pride of sorts when facing Blackburn at Ewood Park, but will face a stern examination with the latter scrapping furiously to retain their Premier League future.

Dalglish certainly will not be taking his former club lightly, and believes the fixture is as important as any other has been over the course of the season.

"We want to win every game we play in and we try to do that," he told

"It'll be no different on Tuesday night.

"We need to get Tuesday done and dusted before we get ourselves and our minds focused on Saturday.

"The players are used to it. If you play for Liverpool Football Club, every game is a big game.

"The boys who've come in who haven't grown up with it, I'm sure they probably realise that as well.

"This is a game we want to go and compete in and we want to go and win, and then Saturday will take care of itself."
