Johan Djourou has urged his Arsenal teammates to recover from their surprise defeat to Wigan and claim all three points in this weekend's crucial London derby with Chelsea.

The Gunners were beaten 2-1 by the Latics at the Emirates Stadium on Monday evening, missing out on an opportunity to further cement their spot in the top four of the Premier League.

They will, however, face a far more difficult proposition on Saturday, as Chelsea travel to north London seeking three points to secure a place in next season's Champions League.

Arsenal are already in possession of one of the automatic places for next year's competition, and it is imperative they do not slip out of contention as the season edges towards its conclusion.

Djourou is aware of how pivotal this weekend's game with Chelsea could prove to be, and wants to see a reaction from the defeat to Wigan for the visit of Roberto di Matteo's side.

"They still want to have Champions League football next season as well so we know it is going to be a tough game," he told Arsenal Player.

"Obviously they have a lot of fixtures, the two Barcelona games are [either side of Saturday's derby] but we don't really concentrate on that. We have to be focused on our game and be focused on what we do best.

"We need to play football the way we did against Manchester City and Wolves, that is the sort of situation we have to get back into. We have to show that again. Unfortunately it wasn't the case against Wigan but we have to be sure it is there on Saturday."
