Younes Kaboul has called upon his team-mates to move on from their crushing FA Cup semi-final defeat against Chelsea and focus on securing a top four spot in their final five games of the season.

Spurs’ hopes of reaching the FA Cup final were crushed as Chelsea cruised to a 5-1 win at Wembley last weekend to set up a final showdown against Liverpool.

The defeat left Tottenham in real danger of ending the season on a low with their hopes of Champions League qualification via the league hanging in the balance.

Kaboul believes Tottenham must move on from their cup heart-break and end the season on a high, starting with victory against QPR.

“Whatever happened in the past is done,” Kaboul told

“We know we what we did wrong and we have to move on. We have no choice.

“It’s part of our job. We had a bad game, that’s behind us and now we move on to the next challenge.

“We have five matches in the Premier League that we have to try and win.

“If we take 15 points in five games, we’re in the Champions League. That’s the easiest way to look at it. We are still in the race."

Spurs have won just one of their last eight league encounters, a run of form that has allowed Arsenal top open a five point gap over them in third while Newcastle have pulled level on points with the north London club in fifth.

Chelsea are a further two points back in sixth with a game against Arsenal to come on Saturday, while Spurs go up against lowly QPR a few hours later.
