The agent of Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has held talks with Juventus regarding a summer move from London to Turin, it has been claimed.

Van Persie is out of contract next summer, and has put any discussions about a new deal on hold until the end of the current season.

Arsenal are, of course, desperate to retain the services of Van Persie, particularly after a stunning season of goalscoring form, in which he has netted 38 times in 50 appearances for club and country.

According to The Mirror, Juve are not alone in their interest in the Holland international, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Milan clubs and Paris Saint-Germain also chasing his signature.

But the Serie A leaders have, it would appear, made the first move for Van Persie, and Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici has already spoken to the 28-year-old's agent proposing a summer deal.

The Bianconeri are reportedly prepared to part with £25 million to prise Van Persie away from the Emirates Stadium, although Arsenal are ready to shatter their wage structure in order to keep him at the club.

Talks regarding a new contract will begin at the end of the campaign, and Arsenal want a conclusion before the European Championships in June.
