Frank Lampard has backed the appointment of Roy Hodgson as England manager.

Chelsea midfielder Lampard, whose uncle Harry Redknapp was the favourite to succeed Fabio Capello, declared Hodgson had all the experience needed to be a success in the job.

Lampard, 33, is hoping to impress Hodgson in the closing weeks of the season and seal a place in the West Brom boss' European Championship squad.
