Ledley King has urged Tottenham fans to act as the players' 12th man in Sunday's exciting Premier League finale against Fulham.

If Spurs manage to produce the cutting-edge football that they are known for and beat the Cottagers, a fourth place finish is guaranteed.

Arsenal, who travel to The Hawthorns, have to beat West Brom if they want to hold on to third position. Only one point separates them from their north London rivals, and Arsene Wenger is determined not to rely on the outcome of the Champion League final to find out if Chelsea deny European joy to whoever finishes fourth.

Additionaly, Newcastle are also in with a chance of finishing third, with one point separating them from Spurs, they are also two behind Arsenal. Defeat for both clubs could roll out Europe's red carpet for Alan Pardew's men providing they beat Everton at Goodison Park.

But, looking ahead to Spurs' clash with the Cottagers at White Hart Lane, King is aware of the kind of atmosphere that the fans can create on big occasions, and hopes it can will them on to victory this weekend.

"I think playing at home could make a big difference with our fans giving us that extra push," the club captain told Tottenham's official website.

Fulham are well-known for raising their game in London derbies though, and they will be seeking payback for the defeat they suffered at Craven Cottage back in November.

Martin Jol's side are currently 9th in the Premier League table but with a win they make finishing seventh a bigger possibility.

"Fulham are always a tough team to play against but we couldn't have asked for a better scenario than playing at home on the final day of the season, in front of our fans," added King.

Tottenham's performances at home make the White Hart Lane a stadium that is hard to win in for visiting clubs, and Harry Redknapp's men are determined to reward their fans' dedication.

"We have a good record at home and it's a great opportunity for us. We don't want to let them down.

"We always knew that it would probably go down to the last game and that's how it's turned out. We're in a good position and have a great opportunity to secure fourth place - and maybe even finish third."
