Smith: Onus on Blades

Stevenage boss Gary Smith claimed all the pressure is on Sheffield United after a goalless draw in the first leg of their npower League One play-off semi-final.

Boro came closest to breaking the deadlock in a typically tight semi-final when Blades keeper Steve Simonsen tipped Craig Reid's first-half piledriver against the crossbar. The Blades, pipped to automatic promotion by city rivals Wednesday at the weekend, finished 17 points ahead of their opponents.

"Sheffield came with a good game plan to frustrate our fluid play," said Smith. "There is more to come and the pressure is now on them. And although they probably feel they are in the box seat, we scored two at their place two weeks ago."
