Atletico Madrid have put a £50million price tag on star striker Radamel Falcao amid reports Chelsea are willing to offer Fernando Torres and £15million to sign him.

According to the Daily Mail, the 26-year-old Colombian international - who bagged 33 goals in 36 appearances for Andre Villas-Boas' Porto in 2010/11 - is top of the Premier League club's summer wish list.

Falcao has flourished since moving from Portugal to Spain, and continued his prolific goalscoring form with 24 goals in 34 games for Atletico this campaign, including a brace in last week's Europa League final victory over Athletic Bilbao in Bucharest.

Despite an element of doubt still surrounding the long-term future of interim Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo, Russian owner Roman Abramovich is keen to start putting plans in place for prospective Stamford Bridge targets this summer, and is eyeing a move for the South American forward.

Torres has started to show signs of getting back to his best with a number of promising performances in the past few weeks, but Chelsea may still look to offload him, with a return to Estadio Vicente Calderon believed to be an attractive option for both parties.
