Ajax coach Frank De Boer has become the latest managerial candidate to reject an approach from Liverpool as the club search for Kenny Dalglish's successor.

Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp both ruled themselves out of the running last week, with Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Martinez now the favourites for the role.

Chelsea's players have called for Roberto Di Matteo to be named permanent manager at the club following the Italian's remarkable 11 weeks in charge.
