Paul Lambert is set to become the next Aston Villa manager, with the Birmingham club expected to make a formal approach today.

Reports emerged late last night that Lambert has quit the club after he was refused permission to speak to Villa about succeeding Alex McLeish.

Harry Redknapp is set for talks over his future with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy today - with the club ready to offer him a new contract.

Elsewhere, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson says the appointment of Brendan Rodgers is 'the biggest gamble the club have taken in a long time'.


In today's transfer news, Moussa Dembele could be about to join his Belgium teammate Eden Hazard at Chelsea, with the Blues ready to bid £10m. (The Sun)
