England manager Roy Hodgson has played down concerns over the fitness of Scott Parker after Frank Lampard was ruled out of Euro 2012.

Parker has been struggling with an Achilles injury, but Hodgson says he expects The Tottenham midfielder to be fully fit before England's first game.

Ledley King could be set to retire from professional football, with the former England international in talks to take up a coaching role at Tottenham.

France's preparations for Euro 2012 have been dealt a blow, with young midfielder Yann M'Vila suffering an ankle injury during a friendly last night.


Roberto Mancini has suggested he could attempt to bring Robin van Persie to Manchester City, admitting his admiration for the Arsenal captain. (Goal)

With Paul Lambert set to leave for Aston Villa, Norwich have been dealt another blow as Grant Holt reaffirms his intention to leave the club. (Telegraph)
