UFC not the sport for Ronaldo

Brazilian footballer Ronaldo was renowned for his turn of pace, rocket shot and trademark celebration.

However, the 98-cap international appears to have traded his boots for boxing gloves following his retirement in 2011, and has been caught on film in a public sparring session with UFC legend Anderson Silva.

Nicknamed ‘the spider’, Silva is revered in his homeland much like the former Real Madrid striker, with the Mixed Martial Artist gaining a huge following thanks to his success in the sport in America.

His relationship with Ronaldo stems from a social media company called 9INE, which the ex-Corinthians striker co-owns. And, one of their clients is...Anderson Silva.

And so, when the opportunity arose, two of Brazil’s favourite sporting sons wasted little time getting together in a sporting environment for both the public and press.

One thing’s for sure though, Ronaldo was better with his feet than his fists.
