Ledley King has retired from professional football Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed, after 250 appearances and 12 international caps.

The club captain, who is set to take on an ambassadorial role at the club, admitted that "injuries…have no finally brought an end to my career."

Stuart Pearce says he will decide whether Daniel Sturridge will feature at London 2012 after Team GB's friendly against Brazil tomorrow.
