Arsenal are reportedly close to signing Santi Cazorla and Nuri Sahin, with the Gunners hopeful both deals can be finalised within the next 48 hours.

A report from BBC Sport claims Cazorla will move in a permanent transfer from Malaga, while the deal to take Sahin form Real Madrid will be a season-long loan.

Cazorla’s deal has encountered complications due to Malaga experiencing financial problems, but an estimated £17.3million deal is expected to go through this week once he has completed a medical.

The Spain international is reportedly set to complete the examination this week, but no medical has been scheduled for Sahin as yet.

The report claims news of Jack Wilshere’s continued rehabilitation lasting until October prompted the Emirates Stadium officials to accelerate the deals this week.

Turkish international, Sahin, has hardly featured for Real since his €10million move from Borussia Dortmund last year – initially this was down to injury, but the success of the Madrid midfield meant playing time was limited.

Should both players complete their moves, they will join other new signings Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud.
