Lewandowski rejects Premier League transfer talk

Premier League transfer target Robert Lewandowski insists he’s focused on life at Borrusia Dortmund, and not interested in speculation linking him with a move away from Germany.

The Polish international was heavily linked with a move to England during Euro 2012, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal all said to be coveting the 23-year-old’s signature.

However, the former Lech Poznan star appears to have come to terms with the fact that he’s likely to stay at the Westfalenstadion for a few more months at least, and he’ll be looking to build on last season’s tally of 22 goals in the Bundesliga.

"The rumours about me and other teams are not of any interest to me," he told Polish newspaper Przeglad Sportowy.

"I have two years on my deal at Borussia Dortmund and I am still a player at this club. We have a competitive match this coming weekend and that's all that matters to me. I am totally focused on the new season and not what could happen in the future."

Manager Jurgen Klopp is in no doubt as to where the transfer rumours have come from, blaming agents for stoking up interest in the player.

"Robert is an exceptional player. He will always be in my squads. Unfortunately his agents will not, there is no doubt about that."

Lewandowski has scored 39 goals in all competitions for Dortmund since joining the club in 2010, struggling at first for BVB before hitting serious form last season. If he were to repeat the trick this term, then a move could be on the cards in the future.
