Chelsea have rejected a £30million bid from Manchester City for Brazilian defender David Luiz. (The Sun)

The offer comes as Roberto Mancini continues his search for defensive cover, with Micah Richards out of action for 10 weeks through injury.

Liverpool owner John W Henry is willing to oversee the sale of two midfielders - Charlie Adam and Jay Spearing - to fund a substantial offer for Fulham's Clint Dempsey. (Daily Mirror)
