Arsenal reignite Argentine starlet chase

Arsenal are ready to revive their interest in Inter Milan midfielder Ricky Alvarez during the January transfer window, according to Argentinian paper Ole.

The Gunners were interested in landing Alvarez last year only for the the 24-year-old to opt for Inter Milan instead.

However in his two seasons at the San Siro, the Argentinian midfielder has only played 23 games and is not a regular first team starter having made both his appearances from the bench this season.

Inter have had another indifferent start to the new Serie A season once more, and have picked up nine points from their first five games to leave them in fifith place.

According to Ole, Arsenal are ready to reignite their interest in Alvarez, who has four caps for his country.

Best known as a playmaker, Alvarez can also operate as an orthodox central midfield player if required, and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to be interested in completing the deal he couldn’t’ get done in 2011.
