Manchester United have joined arch-rivals Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham in the hunt for Birmingham City star Nathan Redmond, reports the Sunday Mirror.

The 18-year-old midfielder enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign at St Andrews last season, scoring seven goals on his way to the Blues' Young Player of the Year award.

His form has alerted a number of Premier League clubs, prompting Birmingham to slap a £12million price-tag on the head of the talented teenager.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson is seeking midfield reinforcements at Old Trafford, and could turn to Redmond when the transfer window reopens in January.

Meanwhile, Liverpool, under the new stewardship of Brendan Rodgers, are looking to recruit some of the country's brightest young talent, making Redmond one of the Anfield club's primary targets.

Spurs and reigning Premier League champions City, are also long-term admirers of Redmond, making it a four-way fight for the Birmingham starlet in the New Year.

The Championship side had hoped to agree a new deal with their protege, but after negotiations reached an impasse, they are now preparing to cash-in before potentially losing Richmond for nothing.
