Valencia striker Roberto Soldado says that he is looking forward to watching Manchester United's Wayne Rooney more than any other player in the Champions League this season.
Rooney has travelled with United to Romania for Tuesday's meeting with CFR Cluj, having missed the Red Devils' opening Group H defeat of Galatasaray due to injury.
Soldado is certainly thankful that the 26-year-old has been able to recover from the horrific gash he sustained to his right thigh against Fulham at Old Trafford, which left Rooney sidelined for a month.
The Spaniard is now looking forward to seeing the Manchester United striker strut his stuff in Europe's Premier League club competition, and has been impressed by the way Rooney has adapted his game.
"If I look across the Champions League the guy I most look forward to watching is Wayne Rooney," Soldado told Uefa.com.
"Previously, he was more of a centre-forward – a goalscorer – but now he's the type who defends a lot, whose game is growing."
Rooney made his Manchester United return in the Capital One Cup victory over Newcastle last week, and was back in Premier League action in the weekend defeat against Tottenham.
The England striker provided an assist for Nani and hit the post from a free-kick as he almost inspired United to an impressive comeback against Andre Villas-Boas' side.
