Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has a number of big decisions to make ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s arrival at the Etihad Stadium.

Joe Hart is a certain starter for the Citizens, but it’s at centre back where the Italian has a choice. Matija Nastasic got the nod against Fulham at the weekend, but Joleon Lescott will be eager to prove his worth alongside Vincent Kompany at the heart of the Manchester City defence.

In midfield, the trio of Javi Garcia, Gareth Barry and Yaya Toure failed to spark at Craven Cottage, and one of those are expected to miss out for the Citizens against the Bundesliga champions.

With Samir Nasri also returning to fitness, David Silva is now free to slot back into a central role for Manchester City, with Carlos Tevez the most likely to take the problem left position.

Up-front Edin Dzeko’s impressive performance at the weekend could earn him a rare start, although Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli will both be pushing for that particular spot.

Manchester City predicted line-up to face Borussia Dortmund:

Joe Hart; Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott, Gael Clichy; Gareth Barry, Yaya Toure; Samir Nasri, David Silva, Carlos Tevez; Edin Dzeko.
