Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has delayed taking the hot seat at Turkish club Kasimpasa amid interest in the Blackburn Rovers job, reports the Daily Mirror.

The 41-year-old has already been offered a £1.4million-a-year deal in Istanbul, but is waiting to hear about any developments with the Championship club's search for a successor to Steve Kean.

Keane - who has had managerial spells at Sunderland and Ipswich - now earns his corn as TV pundit for ITV, but fits the profile of a big-name to lead the Ewood Park outfit back to the Premier League.

The Red Devils legend's former Old Trafford team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also in the running for the job, alongside former Rovers stars Alan Shearer and Tim Sherwood, who have been mooted as potential targets.

Solskjaer won the Norwegian title with Molde in his first full season, and was recently praised by Sir Alex Ferguson for his potential to be one of the game's top coaches in the future.

He remains the favourite to be appointed, but an announcement is still believed to be someway off.

Blackburn's director of football Shebby Singh said: "There's a lot of interest. And we will not be rushed into a decision."
