Nordsjaelland defender Jores Okore admits Chelsea are his favourite club, even though he has been recommended for a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The 20-year-old impressed in last night's Champions League clash against the reigning European champions, and despite the emphatic 4-0 defeat, did his reputation no harm at all with a commanding performance over Fernando Torres.

Red Devils legend Peter Schmeichel admits he has already recommended the Ivorian-born stopper as a potential signing to Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson but the Danish international has revealed that he would prefer to move to Stamford Bridge.

"I was not fazed by their [Chelsea] stature. When the game is on, I only see humans like you and me," Okore told Sky Sports. "Of course they are a great team, which they showed, but I was just focusing on my assignments and, to be fair, I think I did pretty well.

"Hopefully I proved I have what it takes to play in a competition like the Premier League, which is one of the best leagues in the world. So hopefully I can play in England someday.

"Chelsea are my favourite team and I would love to play for them in the future. Every player dreams of playing for Chelsea and I am no exception."

Okore made his league debut for Nordsjaelland towards the end of the 2010/11 campaign, and is now a regular at the heart of the defence at Farum Park, which could appeal to Roberto Di Matteo.

A potential move to either Chelsea or Manchester United remains some way off, though. He is under contract with the Danish champions until 2016, and it is not yet clear how big a fee the imposing defender would command.
