Arsenal are planning a move for highly rated Anderlecht forward David Henen, who is also a target for Manchester United, reports Italian website

The 16-year-old winger is the new phenomenon in Belgian football, with a similar playing style to Eden Hazard - who completed a £32million move to Chelsea in August - though he has also been labelled the 'new Cristiano Ronaldo' in his homeland.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson has shown an interest in the talented teenager, but will wait for him to develop before deciding whether or not to bring him to Old Trafford.

However, Manchester United may be forced to shore up their interest sooner, after it emerged that Arsene Wenger is also monitoring Henen's situation, and is ready to swoop to secure his signature for the Gunners.

The Frenchman is renowned for nurturing and developing promising young players, and so a move to the Emirates Stadium might not be a bad thing for him to consider, with Arsenal a proven platform for emerging stars in the Premier League.

Henen was born in Luxembourg before being snapped up by Standard Liege at the tender age of 12. He then spent three years in the Liege youth set up before making the move to Anderlecht, where he has continued to excel.

Football in Belgium is experiencing a renaissance at the moment with a host of players earning big money moves abroad.

Thomas Vermaelen, Vincent Kompany and Mousa Dembele are already established Premier League stars while Chelsea have - in addition to Hazard - talented trio Roman Lukaku, Kevin de Bruyne, and Thibaut Coutiois on their books.
