Reading defender Adrian Mariappa insists team morale remains high despite the fact the Royals are yet to win in the Barclays Premier League this season.

Brian McDermott's side visit Swansea on Saturday with only two points to their name, and they currently sit 19th in the table. Despite struggling in the early weeks of their first top-flight season since 2008, Mariappa reckons the Reading squad are still full of confidence.

"The mood in the dressing room has always been the same," he said. "We know what we are capable of and what we can do, obviously people write us off early doors being the team that is newly-promoted."
