Chelsea and Liverpool defender target Lukasz Piszczek is on the Real Madrid radar, according to agent Gianluca Di Carlo.
The 27-year-old full-back has been earning rave reviews at Borussia Dortmund, helping the German giants to consecutive Bundesliga titles following a move from Hertha Berlin in 2010.
"When Mourinho was at Inter Milan, Piszczek had already been proposed as an alternative to Maicon," Di Carlo told Portuguese publication A Bola, according to Eurosport.
“The club refused because the job was already filled and that the leaders did not believe in him totally. Nevertheless, Mourinho has offered €10 million to try to bring the player to Real Madrid."
Goal.com highlighted the interest of two of English football’s biggest clubs at the weekend, reporting on the versatile defender ahead of Poland’s clash with the Three Lions in Tuesday night’s World Cup qualifier.
And, whilst Piszczek did not say he wanted a move away from the Westfalenstadion, he was happy to lavish praise on the Premier League.
"The Premier League is very strong, now they are looking for the best players no matter what country they are from,” he’s quoted as saying on the website.
"Maybe it's not the best situation for English football itself - success for the club, but not for the national team.”
Chelsea are relatively light in the right-back position, with Branislav Ivanovic currently filling to void despite his more natural affliction to the central position.
Paulo Ferreira remains the second option, but with the 33-year-old former Portuguese international moving towards the end of his career, Chelsea could be in the market for a replacement.
Liverpool are also relatively light in the position at Anfield, with England international Glen Johnson often switching to the left-back position in the absence of the injured and out-of-favour Jose Enrique.
Andre Wisdom has impressed when called upon, and the Reds also have Martin Kelly, but if Rodgers wants to add another experienced international in the position, then Piszczek could be the man for Liverpool.
