Surplus Chelsea star to join Neymar

Out-of-favour Chelsea winger Florent Malouda is reportedly set to complete a January move to Santos and play alongside superstar Neymar.

According to talkSPORT, the 32-year-old had been told he has no future at Stamford Bridge and has been told to train with the Blues’ reserves – making a January move away almost certain.

The report claims Brazilian side Santos are reportedly ready to offer Malouda a way out of his current misery under Roberto di Matteo and will make Chelsea an offer come Janaury.

Despite being a first-team regular since leaving Ligue 1 side Lyon for Stamford Bridge in 2007, the recent Roman Abramovich spending spree has left De Matteo with an abundance of attacking options, meaning Maloudahas now become surplus to requirements.

There was reportedly some interest from his former club, but the France international could prefer a move to Santos, the club Neymar plays for, as his wife is Brazilian and he would be closer to French Guiana, the place of his birth, which shares a border with Brazil.
