Juventus are ready to step up their interest in Theo Walcott during the January transfer window, according to reports in Italy.

The Turin-based club currently sit atop of Serie A and want to add to their ranks in January according to Calcio Mercato, with Walcott set to be targeted alongside Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski and Roma forward Pablo Osvaldo.

Walcott’s future has been the subject of speculation for some time as the end of his contract with Arsenal draws closer and closer.

The Gunners wideman looks set to leave north London in the summer unles she can agree to a new deal before then.

Walcott himself has previously hinted that he is willing to stay, a sentiment echoed by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

However a deal is yet to have been struck, meaning Walcott will be able to discuss a pre-contract with suitors in January unless the Gunners can tie him down with a new deal.

According to Calcio Mercato, Juve are desperate to bolster their attacking ranks having spent much of the summer searching for a striker in vain, and will target Walcott – who has expressed a desire to play up front – as well as forward’s Lewandowski and Osvaldo.

Reports in Italy suggest Juventus manager Antonio Conte will be present at England’s World Cup qualifying match tonight against Poland in order to run the rule over Lewandowski, while his chances of seeing the Arsenal man in action were ruined when he picked up a serious chest injury against San Marino on Friday.

Liverpool have previously been linked with a move for Walcott, with boss Brendan Rodgers said to be a fan of his abilities.

However the Anfield club appear desperate to add reinforcements in January, with Walcott only likely to leave over the summer if he does decide to depart north London.
