The Argentine ‘Superclasico’, one of the fiercest derbies in world football, is to be streamed live on Give Me Football this weekend.

The match, which pits old foes River Plate and Boca Juniors against one another, kicks off on Sunday at 18:30 GMT, and football fans around the world will be able to watch it live on

The Buneos Aires duo haven’t played each for 17 months, the longest gap between one competitive Superclasico and another, on account of River Plate dropping out of the Argentine top division for a season.

And it’s sure to be a feisty affair. Neither Boca Juniors nor River Plate, two of Argentina’s most successful club sides, are having particularly impressive seasons, which means both will be doubly determined to secure local bagging rights for their fans.

After 11 matches River Plate find themselves in ninth place, while rivals Boca sit slightly higher in fifth. And both sides come into the fixture looking to rediscover their best form – River went down 1-0 away to Quilmes in their last match while Boca struggled to a 0-0 draw at home to Estundiantes La Plata last weekend.

The key player on show will undoubtedly be River Plate captain David Treseguet. The French international is a World Cup winner, a genuine world class player on his day, and one of the most lethal strikers in football.

The 35-year-old has passed the peak years of his career, but the former-Juventus striker will be integral to his sides hopes of walking away with all three points.

But Boca Juniors have a talismanic striker of their own. Uruguayan forward Santiago “the Tank” Silva, already has four goals this season, and has boasted he will score the winner against River Plate on Sunday.

The last Superclasico in May 2011 ended in a 2-0 defeat for River at Boca Juniors' home ground La Bombonera, so the Red and Whites will be keen to avoid a repeat on their turf, the Antonio Vespucio Liberti.

It promises to be a thrilling Sunday full of derby-day action as the match starts just a few hours after Everton v Liverpool in the Premier League, the Merseyside derby. And while that encounter is bound to be a good watch, it's tough to beat the Superclasico in terms of passion, skill and pure entertainment.

The name says it all, if Real Madrid v Barcelona is 'El Clasico', or The Classic, River Plate v Boca Juniors is one step up, the 'Super Clasico', the Super Classic. To watch the full match, click here before kick-off -
