Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all had scouts watching Genoa full-back Mario Sampirisi against AC Milan on Saturday, reports the Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old only made his Serie A debut in January, after failing to make the grade at the San Siro, where he came through Milan's youth academy.

Sampirisi started out as an attacking wing-back before retreating to a more defensive role, after being picked up by Genoa in 2011.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been credited with an interest in bringing the exciting Italian to Old Trafford, while Roberto di Matteo and Brendan Rodgers also want him at Stamford Bridge and Anfield.

All three Premier League clubs were believed to have had representatives watching him at the weekend, with a view to making a bid when the transfer window reopens in January.

It's not yet clear which team are favourites to clinch his signature, but a move to England seemingly beckons.
