Manchester City are being linked with a move for highly-rated Chelsea youngster Connor Hunte.

The 16-year-old midfielder – who has drawn comparisons with German international Mesut Ozil – has already represented England at U17 level on three occasions.

And, according to The Daily Mail, the Citizens are now ready to step-up their interest in the Chelsea player.

Manchester City scouts have been keeping a ‘close eye’ on the player in recent months, according to the report, but the Blues are unlikely to let Hunte leave Stamford Bridge without a fight.

Members of the club’s academy coaching staff have tipped the youngster for big things in the future, and Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo will hope that the teenager fulfils his vast potential in west London.

However, Manchester City now have trophies to go alongside their huge spending power, and will hope to lure Hunte north to a Premier League rival.

Were the player to make the move to the Etihad Stadium, then Chelsea would be entitled to compensation.
