Chelsea and Manchester United go head-to-head in the Capital One Cup fourth round tonight – four days after their controversial Premier League meeting.
The Red Devils came out 3-2 winners in that particular showdown, and Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo will be looking for a certain measure of revenge with a completely different side.
As is often the case in the League Cup, both sides will be making a number of changes, with Ross Turnbull between the sticks for Chelsea and Anders Lindegaard returning for Manchester United.
Suspensions are likely to dictate Di Matteo’s defensive selections at Stamford Bridge, with Gary Cahill and David Luiz again expected to play at centre back. Cesar Azpilicueta and Ryan Bertrand will flank the duo.
Sir Alex Ferguson has plenty of options at his disposal, with young Michael Keane hoping to feature again at the heart of defence. Jonny Evans is likely to be the experienced head alongside, with Alex Buttner and Marnick Vermijl acting as full-backs.
Chelsea are likely to change their formation to accommodate players, with Oriol Romeu the only natural holding midfielder – presuming John Obi Mikel is rested. Victor Moses and Marko Marin will take the wide positions, with either Ramires or Oscar likely to play as the other central midfielder.
Manchester United again have options in midfield, both with selection and formation. Luis Nani is likely to start on one flank, with Anderson, Darren Fletcher and Nick Powell a potential midfield three. Danny Welbeck could get the nod on the left for the Old Trafford outfit, leaving Javier Hernandez to start up-front.
For the Blues, Lucas Piazon and Daniel Sturridge could lead the line on the King's Road.
